Safe at 145°F, but ribs are about texture, not safety. They are ready when the meat pulls back from the bone ends.
How to cook Ribs in an air fryer
- Remove the membrane from the bone side or the ribs stay tough however long you cook them.
- Cut the rack into 3 or 4 bone sections so they fit and cook evenly.
- Sauce only in the last 5 minutes — earlier and the sugar burns.
Common questions
How long do you air fry Ribs?
Ribs takes 25–30 minutes at 380°F (190°C) in an air fryer. Turn at 15 minutes. Cook to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Do air fryer ribs come out tender?
Yes, though not fall-off-the-bone like a 6-hour smoke. Removing the membrane and keeping to 380°F rather than higher gives the best texture.
When do you add barbecue sauce?
The last 5 minutes only. Barbecue sauce is high in sugar and will burn black over a full 30-minute cook.
